What is the difference between the TT1E &TT2C
Electrically they perform the same. The TT1E can be slid between a headliner and roof, routing the cable behind the window post trim. The TT2C can be mounted under a dash or in an overhead console where the radio is in the middle.
Will the Tune Trapper antenna work in a steel car?
Yes, The only place the Tune Trapper won't work is sandwiched between two peices of steel, under a running board or tyrapped to a wire bundle.
What is the mininum clearance to steel?
On one side only 1/2 to 3/4 inch is all that is needed. The surrounding space can be a head liner, trunk space, fiberglass fairing, etc.
Will the Tune Trapper work in a particular vehicle?
The Tune Trapper antenna doesn't care what type vehicle you mount it in, only the FM receiver you are connecting.
Will the Tune Trapper antenna work as well as an outside antenna?
Yes, as long as it's not mounted under a running board or close to the ground. Anywhere in the cab it will perform.
Can the TT be slightly bent around a motorcycle fairing?
Yes, The TT1E or TT2C antenna is flexible and can be bent 10-20 degrees without any detuning or degrading of the antenna.
Can the TT be mounted vertical or horizontal?
It doesn't matter, the reception will be the same. It's more a matter of where you can mount it.
Can I use the TT series antennas on my boat?
Yes, all the Tune Trapper antennas are sealed for the marine environment. They can be hidden anywhere in the hull or a compartment. Radio signals pass freely through fiberglass.
Wouldn't an amplified antenna be better?
Todays receivers have very high sensitivity, adding a amplified antenna will generally overload the RF and mixer stages of the receiver. What you end up with is a mess in non technical terms. Just ask most people who have or had amplified antennas.
What if I'm not happy with the TT antenna ?
We will do everything via phone or e-mail to resolve any antenna placement problems, if however we are unable to resolve the problem to your satisfaction, we will refund the full purchase price of the antenna less S&H. (The antenna must not have been modified or cut in any way.)
How good is AM reception
AM is a low frequency 550-1700 khz and close to EMI and the noise frequency. Any hidden antenna will perform ok on AM in fiberglass usually in a headliner away from wires and metal. AM in a motorcycle fairing, where mounting close to wires, will be marginal at best.
